Contest Regulations

Regulations:

The Competition is open to any high school student (home-school, private school, or public school), Grades 9-12 during the 2011-2012 School Year.

Contestants will prepare three pieces. One piece may be in English. Two pieces will be performed during the Competition, with one piece selected by the Contestant, and one piece selected by the Judges.

The Competition will be recorded. CD's of your performance, and the Judge's Comment Sheets, will be available to each Contestant after the Awards Presentation.

Each Contestant will meet with a Judge following their performance.

Requirements For Vocal Selections:

Three vocal selections will be prepared by each Contestant. English may be used as one of the languages. Selections covering different musical periods is recommended, and languages, is recommended.

SPECIAL EMPHASIS:

On the day of the Competition, each Contestant will provide the Competition Coordinator with three (3) copies of each selection for a total of nine (9) copies. All copies must be bound in folders, and all measures must be numbered. None of the copies can contain any identifying marks, such as the student's or instructor's names, or the name of your school. There are no facilities at the Competition location to make copies. You must be prepared before you arrive at the competition.

Each Contestant must provide his or her own Accompanist for the Competition.

Each Contestant must submit a $40.00 Entry Fee, and a photograph, with his or her Application.
